Taste of Japan: Reviews & Ratings
Go! It’s incredible! The staff is friendly and helpful! You pick what you want in your hibachi. They cook it and bring it to you. They have many other things on the buffet including sushi. Everything is hot and fresh. It’s bite sized so you can try everything. And they have desserts. Almost everything you can think of including sherbet and ice cream.
Just incredible! Went around 7pm on a weeknight and everything was incredible! No wait. Everything was fresh and hot and facilities very clean. The service was phenomenal and staff vey helpful. This is an elevated AYCE experience. Hibachi is made to order with whatever ingredients you want in whatever quantity you want. Great soup station and desert/ice cream bar.
The sushi was delicious and fresh. Went for lunch and they had a wide variety of food. The hibachi was also great. Definitely will come back again!
The variety is impressive.. from fresh sushi rolls and flavorful hot appetizers to perfectly cooked fried items and a wide selection of sides. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and consistently good across the buffet. The sushi station was a standout, with beautifully prepared rolls and great flavor balance. The hot food section had plenty of options, all kept hot and replenished regularly. Even the desserts were well done, offering a nice sweet finish to the meal. Clean setup, good presentation, and overall great value for the price. Definitely a place I’d come back to when craving Japanese buffet food. Highly recommended!
Our first time there was followed promptly by our second time there. Both were very enjoyable experiences. The create-your-own Hibachi integrated into the all-you-can-eat buffet with prepared foods, sushi rolls, sides, and soups was delightful. The ingredients are fresh (with some unique ones in the proteins), the sushi rolls are creatively made crowd favorites (with a couple unique ones as well), the kimchi is delicious (very close to one of our favorites in Korea), and the selection of deserts has something for everyone. Best desert flavors besides the fruit were found in the coconut/tapioca desert, the custard/caramel desert, and the coffee flavored desert. Our only critiques are: - the Hibachi uses standard sauces so be creative with your vegetable combinations to get the flavors you want, or make special requests on your cooking slip. - the sushi rice can get a little dry depending on how quickly the rolls were eaten before being replaced on the buffet (just comes with being a buffet style sushi) - the ice cream selection has interesting flavors, but is all Hershey's low cost bulk cups sweetened with corn syrups (automatic no for us). A moochi ice cream or something more natural would be preferred. - there was a surprising lack of green tea and green tea flavors. In total it is more generically "asian" than specifically Japanese - but in that way the name is correct "taste" of Japan. Overall, highly recommend for a buffet style hibachi and sushi experience. Superior to other all-you-can-eat sushi places in the region in quality of the limited selection of rolls. Freshness of ingredients a real plus. Staff were friendly, attentive, helpful, and very kind. Cost is reasonable at 17.99/adult, for the variety and quantity able to be eaten. Keep this one on your list as a special occasion or regular lunch/"night out" eatery.
We recently came here for lunch, and everything was excellent. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. There was a great variety of hibachi options with plenty of choices for vegetables, proteins, and rice or noodle bases, so it was easy to customize a meal. The sushi selection was also very good, along with a wide assortment of desserts and ice cream, which was a nice touch. Everything was clean, well stocked, and enjoyable. I had actually left a review a few days ago that didn’t post, so I wanted to be sure to share our positive experience. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back. Highly recommend Taste Of Japan!
First of all, I'm not a person who regularly eats Asian cuisine on the regular. With that being said, we were able to be seated right away by a friendly face. The gentleman took us to a table and asked us if we had visited before. We were not familiar with the restaurant so he explained how it worked. Simple. You get a card and a metal bowl. You fill out the card with your name, table number and what starch you would like in your hibachi. You take that card up to the toppings station which included meat, seafood, veggies and other items. Drop off your bowl and card at the station. They will cook it for you and bring it back to your table when its cooked. Meanwhile you can enjoy a wide variety of other hot items and sushi on the buffet. It was all very good. When the hibachi came out, I enjoyed that as well, even being someone who doesn't eat it often. There were a wide variety of desserts there as well that looked great and we're tasty. Over all, I enjoyed my experience here and I plan on returning soon! Great job!
This was my first time visiting, and I was really impressed! The restaurant is super clean, and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The hibachi was my favorite — freshly cooked right in front of you with delicious hibachi sauce. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the hot bar had plenty of tasty options that were well-seasoned and always replenished. Overall, everything was fresh, delicious, and made with care. I’ll definitely be coming back.
